This is an exceptional example of a 'flat relief'
bronze plaque. The 'gold colored area' is the raised
finished bronze while the background is a textured
light oxide color.
Some of the techniques for simplifying an emblem for
quality casting can be seen in the arrows, olive branch
and the emblem above the eagle head.
